R. B. Johnson
R. B. Johnson has made a career out of his love for music. His
passion for singing and writing, and his dedication to both, has
allowed for the opportunity to make a life out of what he loves
most. From the moment he took center stage he developed an insatiable
desire to perform, which is reflected in his music.
Born in Doerun, Georgia, R.B. was surrounded by the inspiring
sounds of rhythm and blues. While still a young boy he and his
family relocated to Florida, and it was in Boynton Beach that
he formed his first band, The Midnight Sun. Although an impacting
experience, it was short lived due to R. B. relocating to Detroit
The Motown experience in Detroit left a positive impact on R.B.
Becoming restless in Detroit after five years, he found it necessary
to make the move back to Florida, and took on a county job reading
meters. Although holding a full-time job his main focus was still
his music. His incessant need to entertain induced the development
of The Window Band. The Window Band's R & B and classic rock
and roll sound was one of the first bands to perform at the annual
Sun Fest in West Palm Beach.
In 1984, R. B. created his company Music Technology, Inc., which
allowed him to concentrate on another goal, recording. "Simple
Girl" became his first accomplished recording to come out of MTI.
He has since recorded a number of original compositions as well
as some Motown remakes. Music Technology has also produced recordings
for other artists. R. B.'s own struggles with establishing a solid
ground for his music gives him first hand knowledge of how difficult
and frustrating in can be to break into the industry, and it is
for this reason that he strives in helping others to reach their
goals.
Somewhere in R. B. Johnson's busy schedule of family, entertaining
and recording he finds the time to donate his time and talent
to various charities. Among these are Toys for Tots, Food for
Family, and Florida Brain Tumor Association. R. B. Johnson is
a true spirit filled man that enjoys bringing joy to others by
his music and entertainment style.
